2. Did you hear Joe Scar this morning
saying how Rahm would be a "terrible" choice because it would be a slap in the face to Repubs? What an idiot scar is.

7. Why does it matter if the CoS is a moderate?
He just needs to keep people in line.

11. It doesn't. Rahm is a badass. Thats why Obama picked him
He won't be advising on Policy

12. It appears that Obama is building a DLC echo-chamber with Furman, Goolsby, Emmanuel, Summers, et al.

21. How many RFK jrs = one Austan Goolsby, I wonder?
Do you think that RFK jr will convince Austan that supply side economics just isn't a good idea?

23. It doesn't matter.
People just need something to bitch about.

Better Emmanuel as CoS than Senator.

10. Better to have him as COS than in Congress. Now they can have
a progressive democratic representative.

Not only that, but he will probably be a really good COS. It's not like he makes policy in that position.

17. At least we have the chance, which we didn't have with Rahm
in that seat, right? Couldn't get much more DLC than Rahm anyway, so it's probably a plus for us.

Rahm is a hard worker like Obama and he knows where the land mines are buried. He's going to be able to really help Obama.

19. I think he's a good choice
That position has to understand all the ins and outs of Washington, Congress and the White House. Rahm fits that to a tee.

20. Not a fan. But those who watched Frontline's profile of Obama knows that
as head of Harvard Law Review he disappointed a lot of allies and minorities by choosing those from the other ideological camp to work with. I'm sure he has a reason to choose RE and it may not be obvious to us. I expect to see some appointments from GOP land too.

22. Obama has earned our trust. I prefer to TRUST him to pick the right
mix of people for his cabinet. If he picks James Dobson for head of Health and Human Servies I'll be happy to complain. But not now.
