I just heard him on Dennis Prager, who identified his book as simply "A bound man." No mention of the other part.

1. Shelby Steele Is Irrelevant and Incoherent
Steele made his initial mark by being a black man who argued that Affirmative Action stigmatized African Americans. However, now that we have a Black President who largely does not support affirmative action and a Democratic Party that is not really pushing it, Steele is suddenly arguing in today's LA Times that Obama was elected due to reverse racism (aka political affirmative action).

The bottom line is that Steele is irrelevant. The right wing may still dredge him up to paradoxically argue that Obama's success is due to racism when Steele argued that Obama could not win due to racism.
