Oregon senate race?
I thought the Republican had won it, but I just went to CNN which has 70% of precincts counted and a 7000 vote gap, while most of the remaining precincts are in Lane County and Multnomah County, which, projecting out, would easily lead to a Merkley victory.

Is Merkley going to win?

2. If it's true that Multnomah county is 44% reported, it should be Merkley

12. Well, sort of.
Portland is odd in that it is in parts of three counties.

5. Just heard on MSNBC - Merkley & Smith BOTH at 47%, with 30% of ballots STILL TO BE COUNTED
The good news is that those uncounted votes are mainly from the PORTLAND area, which is expected
to put Merley over the top.. hoo-ahh

7. multnomah is our biggest county and very very democratic... only about 30-40% counted
we had a 77% voter turnout with about 436,489 registered voters and only 192,671 have been counted so far.

so we have about 245,000 more votes to count here in very super blue land

11. With 46 percent of precincts, Multnomah has Merkley ahead by 70,000 acc to CNN LINK
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/county/#val=ORS01p3

Since the statewide Smith lead with 71 percent of precincts is under 5,000, Merkley should pull far ahead soon, even if the missing Multnomah precincts are smaller or less pro-Merkley than those already in.

A look at the outsanding counties where Smith is ahead puts his possible gain among uncounted votes at about 20,000, which Lane County alone would counteract.

IMO, Merkely will become Democratic Senator #57.
