1. The Stevens Effect

Yeah, they all seem to be looking around aimlessly like a dog who heard a fart.

This Stevens Effect seems to be one they can't quite grasp either. What's that you say?

From Talking Points Memo this morning:

"4:26 AM ... Now that the "Bradley Effect" seems set for a richly deserved retirement, TPM Reporter Eric Kleefeld suggests christening the "Stevens Effect" -- the poll distorting effect of poll respondents unwillingness to admit they will vote for the convicted felon in the race."

2. They were just trying to keep us tuned in
The way they insisted the Dem Primary was over though Obama won twice as many contests as he lost. The same thing with this "miracle scenario" stories about McCrazed, and even their blathering until they could call the election at 11PM EST last night--they were just playing us like a grand piano.

3. obama's victory doesn't prove that the bradley effect doesn't exist or wasn't a factor....
...in this race. if the bradley effect is real, luckily it wasn't enough to swing the election the other way. it's very possible that a high percentage of white people did not vote for obama solely because he is black even though they might have told a pollster otherwise. if so, i'm thankful that obama's margin of victory was great enough to overcome anything like that.

the US still has a long way to go in regards to race relations. but i'm still so happy that we have come a long enough distance that we elected obama in an electoral landslide yesterday. it was the greatest election in my lifetime and maybe in US history, bradley effect or no bradley effect!
