I hope everyone in the world feels like this... |
|
I just got this email from my friend's mother. They are German and live in Berlin. Her English is not perfect, but it's a lot better than my German!
It brought tears to my eyes, and I have to share...
Hello Mary, CONGRATULATIONS! For your engagement for Barack Hussein Obama. ( I know about it from Heinz). The youngsters of Germany- and I`m sure millions of people worldwide- have now got new hope for a better world. My mother ( she is 87 years old , busy and very interested in political themes) cried with luck and relief. Me too - I had tears in my eyes. Simon-the younger brother of Heinz was very happy this morning when the message came. He said , that he starts to love the american people again. Hey- just at this moment your mail arrived. Once again: Thank you for your work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Communications between the nations! What a good feeling! Perhaps Barack Obama and his wife really can move the souls of people who have lost their hearts in egoism ,fear and bitterness. I think, you were the silent majority, which now spoke. Thank you. (Do not think we are better). Sorry for my english. Bussi K. ( Bussi means " kiss")

2. I will be moving to Germany early next year (Mr. B@L has a GRAT opportunity there). |
|
We also traveled to Malaysia last year--from cabbies to CEO's--EVERYONE was excited about "our" Obama. We encountered very similar sentiments from literally everyone. such excitement, such hope!
"We love your Obama." "I'll be so thrilled when you elect Mr. Obama." Eevery cabbie. Every waiter. We LOVED talking it up with them!
I'm so proud now to represent my country and the world again welcomes us. It's a beautiful day. I'm very sad to leave when there is so much to look forward to but it is temporary--and my son will return to a GREAT country.
God, what a lovely desert sunrise it was this morning (sobbing again....)!
