Obviously not forever or anything. But I think the Republican's choice to put Palin on the ticket actually hurth the chances for a female President for quite sometime. She was just awful.

3. Holy hell no. Not even in the Republican Party. It will hurt the chances of unqualified nutjobs
forever, though.

4. Naw, I think most people are smart enough to know and see what her pick was all about
She was chosen as a token and many people, especially women, said, "Hell no!" If you're going to give us a woman, give us a smart woman. Then on the other side of the coin, the wingnuts loved her 'cause she was dumb just like them. If it hurt women on the Presidential level of politics, I think it did more harm to Repugs than Dems.

6. I don't think so
Maybe if Hillary hadn't preceded her and shown everyone that a woman could do it just as well as a man, Sarah could have done more damage. But since Hillary was there, I think most people just perceive Sarah Palin to be exceptionally unqualified as an individual, but not as a reflection on women in general.

7. No. She was found to be unqualified by 60% of the voters.
People know when they see a qualified woman who is a candidate for President. She didn't hurt a qualified woman from seeking/attaining the office.

8. No, she only hurt Republican chances
Incompetent and unqualified are not limited to females. But females aren't immune from that either (Phailin being living proof)

9. You may have just answered your own question.
"She was just awful." :-)

I would have had no problem with an intelligent, accomplished woman being nominated. Palin was an utter insult to intelligent, accomplished women everywhere. Big backfire for the Republicans this year, but I do not think it will cost women high offices in the future.

12. Palin is a token woman
If there were a real woman running instead of a mere token, we might have a female President or Vice-President.

23. I don't think she hurt any competent female's chance.
Of course, the key word there is competent - not female - like some thought was the most important word during this election.
