My precinct voted 93% for Obama. |
|
The precincts that I volunteered at yesterday voted 98-99% for Obama.
Citywide, Philly went 83% for Obama and 16% for McCain. (with 99% reporting)
I fucking love Philadelphia.
I'm planning to write a detailed account of my experiences a bit later, once I stop crying every time I think about it, that is. But I just couldn't wait to share my precincts results with you.

2. It certainly is. I can't wait to find out the turnout. |
|
I'll bet it's around 75-80%.
The precincts I volunteered in (in a quite poor neighborhood) had around 70% turnout with an additional estimated 10% inactive voters. That's amazing.

4. I worked the polls yesterday in my old precinct. |
|
We had 80+ percent turnout (our village is 7% AA) and the vote went 2 to 1 for Obama! I'm so proud of everyone who worked so hard to make this dream come true! :yourock:

6. And we were probably the weakest precinct in the ward! |
|
The ward overall went 96% for Obama.
But, my precinct is predominantly white, so I'm tickled pink with 93%. Take that pundits! ;)

10. Well, we've got one lady in the neighborhood who thinks Bob Casey is trying to kill her. |
|
She's a bit off. So that's one of the twenty or so McCain votes we had. Nothing to do about that one. And there's another guy in the building who just moved here from Texas. We haven't had enough time to liberalize him, but we're working on it. I should try to smoke the rest of them out. ;)

I know it was precincts like yours that made it happen. I hope a lot of Americans see the power they have when they vote, and when they vote Dem.
