Limbaugh: "Time to Cleanse the Republican Party"
Radio host Rush Limbaugh, the loudest conservative voice in American politics , today blasted John McCain's presidential campaign as weak and said Barack Obama's election as president is an opportunity to purge the Republican Party of candidates who abandon conservative principles.

"McCain's whole campaign was a concession speech," said Limbaugh in his post-election analysis. "We've now demonstrated to everyone how to lose."

Limbaugh dismissed any notion that victories by Democrats in the White House and Congress meant a repudiation of right-leaning principles.

Limbaugh explained conservatism was not on the ballot.

"We haven't been on the ballot since 1994," he said, noting that if Republicans wanted to win elections, they should not put so-called "moderates" on the ballot.

"The conservative movement does not need to be rebuilt," he said. "We had some people abandon the conservative movement, and they need to be abandoned."

The broadcaster called last night's results "an opportunity for cleansing ... like we haven't seen in a long time."

Hey you fat fuck!! I've got a good idea where we can stick the enema nozzle!

1. If The Republican Party Follows Rush's Advice...
It will be dead in 20 years. Are they smart enough to see that Rush and his ilk are killing them?

rush can stfu. he sat there and carried watered for an economic liberal in bush for 8 years and basically gave him a free pass. someone should really call him out on it. i guess thats not good for ratings though.

We need to stop listening to the radio, too, and build a conservative party. Radio talk is mostly a bunch of hooey. Nothing strategic about it; just complaining and fist pounding. Crap like Operation Chaos, nothing but ratings building.

I just unsubscribed to the RINO Party’s emailings and will not contribute or volunteer for them again ever. Will be going elsewhere and making the best of it.

22. Rush is always the 'I told you so" guy. Only problem
is, he never told us what he claims he did before the debacle. He claimed, AFTER the mid-terms, that he had warned the Republicans and told them what to do not to lose seats. Only, I guess those audio tapes went missing along with the White House emails and Cheney's WH meetings with Enron.
I told my husband this morning, listen to Rush today. He'll claim he warned the Republicans. If only they'd listened to him. O'Reilly said this days ago...sniffing defeat and wanting to appear like the smart guy in the room.
Rush is a media whore. He has to appear smart in order to keep the syncophants listening to his "wisdom". Truth is, he loved Palin and was crowing about her selection for weeks.
And Palin was an anchor on this ticket. She cost McCain in the white suburbs of Ohio and PA.

They will "dump" assholes like Rush as their spokesmen in the media! This idiot is the biggest lying bag of wind on the planet, and his mouth is the biggest problem they have! As long as they let gasbags like him speak for them, they are going to have the "sane" people in this country turn away from them. It's people like Rush that spread "hate" who need to be cleaned out of the media!

Specifically run to the right of McCain, and how he thinks that would get more electoral votes.

Frankly if there is any GOP cleansing going to happen, some of the far right gasbags should be the first to go.

31. If the vast majority of even REPUBLICANS wanted far right conservatism
they would never have nominated McCain in the first place. It IS a primary vote after all.

But keep that wagon hitched to Sarah Palin, Rush. Clearly all of America wanted to vote for her but McCain just was too 'moderate' for everyone to stomach.

Dumbass.

I remember when Bush 41 got beat, Rush said it was because he signed an economic bill with Democrats, that he moved too far to the left.

Then not long after Clinton took office, the economy started to pickup...of course Rush said it was because of Bush41's economic policies.

I also remember him bashing people for wearing ribbons for AIDS awareness. he said it was a sign of "Liberal sybolism"...yet I wonder if he has a flag pin on his lapel or a yellow ribbon on his SUV?

68. I don't think it's possible to cleanse the GOP.
Probably better to just burn it instead.

69. You don't understand - this is GOOD...
because, by "cleanse" Rush means "throw out ANYONE with any sense of decency or moderation and make the party think like ME".

This would be GREAT, as it would assure Democratic ascendancy through at LEAST the next decade, and well into the 2020s.

71. Found: The Last Republican!

Nov. 5, Searchers announced at 3:00PM today that they had located the Republican Party where it had come to rest in a high snowbound pass in Colorado's Rocky Mts. Although there was evidence of foul play, preliminary indications were that the deceased had died at his own hands, of a reckless excess of malice. Some reports from witnesses at the site even speak of the possibility, and we believe this is not a typo, of cannibalism.

73. As Cenk said "Have at it, Hoss!"
Tuesday was a clear, unequivocal and absolute repudiation of the brand of extremest "conservatism" represented by Limbaugh and Palin. The solution to save the GOP isn't to become even more extreme - that's a strategy to lose even more.

78. Rush, be a leader, throw yourself off a cliff.
Maybe your mouth breathing minions will follow you Lemming style.
