I love my little sister..But god she has drunk the Kool-aide
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 04:57 PM by GoPsUx
From her Myspace Blog

"I'm ashamed to be an American. I have loved my country my whole life and have been so proud of my country. I'm just so ashamed right now....I cant even speak. God help us when our military is reduced to nothing as in the Clinton years. I pray for our soldiers fighting right now. I pray they won't have to go back once this fool that you idiots elected president tonight brings them back home too soon just like Clinton did in the 90's. I pray that you will find jobs once we have no military...as our unemployment rates will skyrocket... Lord help us.....the ANTICHRIST is in our midst!"

Should I reply?

if she is in the military then she might want to be continually posted overseas? Does she support a draft?

16. I would agree with that....
She should be serving her country instead of freeloading in it.

BTW, I served with Bill Clinton as my Commander-in-Chief.

Yeah, I know this is really getting old, but I'm much better qualified and there's actually no mention of Anti-Christ in the scriptures, it's actually Nostradomus.

Waste of time. My mother is exactly the same and she has been impossible to reach. It is exhausting to even try anymore. If these people can't see that their leader, GWB, destroyed our armed services, raided our Treasury and stole our rights and The Constitution then no amount of rational talk will help. I am sorry for your pain. I love my mother but I just can't be with her. peace, Kim

26. WAIT A MINUTE HERE. So, its now okay to be ashamed of our country?
How come it wasn't okay to be ashamed of our country when it was OUR side that felt ashamed?

We were called unpatriotic and anti-American. If anyone from the right claims to be ashamed of our country now, can we call them unpatriotic and anti-American?

I felt it even worse when he was elected again.
Now I feel totally opposite of you. I feel a great Joy and pride.
I'm sorry you are taking this hard Sis.I truly am.
May I just say that the military used to wage this war in Iraq was built by the Clinton White house.
And Bush 1 brought the troops home. Not Clinton.
We will never agree on politics I think.Maybe we shouldn't discuss Politics.
I believe your fears are unmerited.
Well anyways.I'm sure this response will annoy you(It is not my intention)
It's going to be OK.(Obama is not the antichrist)

31. I posted a similar thread here a few days ago, my sister is the same
There is nothing you can do. My sister still insists Barack is a Muslim and we will be facing east on our knees praying to Allah. I feel so sorry for the people of the Muslim faith being drawn through the mud like it has. It's a shame on our country.

But on the lighter side, next time I talk to my sister I'll tell her I can't talk right then because I'm on my way to be fitted for my Burqa.

Ever read the Bible? Jesus was a jerk. Hate your immediate family and love me instead. Who said that? Jesus. There was no hell of eternal suffering before gentle Jesus, meek and mild promoted the idea. In the Old Testament, god's enemies were exterminated and that was it (genocide was the preferred method, though one could keep the women as slaves and whores if god so ordered). Their existence was over. NO eternal suffering. Jesus was the bastard who brought the eternal suffering meme into the conversation.

Sorry, but being anti-Christ is being pro-human.

35. Just had the same MySpace experience with my 18 year old, fundy half-sister...check it out:
Shortly after uploading my "I voted for Obama" picture as my main MySpace picture, she dropped me from her friends and sent me this:

From: (my fundy half-sister)
Date: Nov 4, 2008 11:13 PM

Body: you should be ashamed of yourself. thats all im gonna say. you and everyone you know who voted for obama. you were too smart to have voted for a muslim.

My reply:

Date: Nov 5, 2008 3:18 PM
Subject: RE: No Subject

Hey, I can see you're upset that Obama won yesterday so I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that cutting me from your Friends list was just a knee-jerk reaction...I would hate to think you would put political fervor ahead of family...at least in the long term. (I am very passionate about politics, too, so I understand!) ;-)

Now, to address the specifics of your email...I think we can actually have a fun and lively debate about this if you're interested. No matter how much we may disagree on stuff it will never change the fact that you're my sister and I love you. Besides, debating politics is fun...and the more you do it, the better you tend to get at it. So here goes:

First of all, Obama is not a Muslim. No amount of you wanting him to be a Muslim will actually make him a Muslim. The idea of his being a Muslim, or that he's not an American citizen or any of the other ridiculous, desperate lies against him are pure fantasy. There is zero evidence of Obama being a Muslim and the idea has been thoroughly discredited by everyone with any shred of credibility. Even Fox News has given up on these hateful smears.

Second of all, so what if he was a Muslim? Muslim Americans have fought and died for this country in American military uniforms on battlefields in Iraq and elsewhere. I refuse to relegate any subset of Americans to second class citizenship just because they are different. I reject the whole idea of "real" and "fake" or "lesser" Americans. That idea is totally un-American.

Lastly, I am, obviously, quite proud to have voted for the 44th President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama. Watching his acceptance speech last night moved me to tears. We are so lucky as a country to have such a highly intelligent, thoughtful and compassionate person as our president.

I am also quite proud of how far we have come in so little time. Black people haven't even had the right to vote in this country for very long and we just elected a black man President. I'm pretty sure we are actually the first western democracy to elect an ethnic minority as the leader of its country. That is certainly something to be proud of.

Anyway, I just hope that you'll eventually be able to judge his presidency on its merits and not cling to these wild lies that were started for the express purpose of making people afraid and distracting them from the real problems our country faces.

Also, you should really consider asking me to be your MySpace friend again, or I'm going to tell Dad on you. :-)

Love,
(me)

*** Holy crap, I just got her response...I don't think I can even bring myself to post it, it's too embarrassing. I should mention that she was raised by my dad (I was not) who has been a faithful Dittohead from before that term even existed. This is probably a lost cause, though she did heed my "threat" and added me back to her friend's list. Heheh. I've got a lot of work to do, but I know I'm not alone in the crazy family-member department! ***

39. This is getting good.
"You have your beliefs, I have mind. YOU helped elect a liar who already is backpeddling on all the promises he wont keep. This is a sad moment in history...one where a true patriot was left behind and the wolf in sheep's clothing is going to jump out and wreak havoc on our world. Barack is NOT the answer...he's going to be more of the problem. Lies, lies and more lies...but you go ahead and keep sipping on that kool-aid the democratic party keeps serving up. You all dehumanized Bush even before he was elected and never gave him a stitch of his humanity. EVERYONE turned their backs on him even though he was right there with us for 8 years trying to help keep us safe. I'd so love to meet him and tell him how much I respect him for all he had to endure over these horrible hateful years. As for John Sidney McCain...I have a great big hug and a TON of appreciation for what HE endured due to the corrupt campaign of a greedy and conniving democratic presidential campaign. God help those born-alive dead babies that Barack has helped to kill....God help us! And I mean the REAL one!!"

My blog is called "The word of Gawd!" just fyi
I blog as god :silly:
I answered
"I am proud of my vote sis.
I am proud Of Barack,I have no idea why you hate him so much.
I cried tears of joy last night when it was announced that he won.
My disdain for bush started in the way he was elected..I believe he stole the election.
John Sydney McCain is a true patriot and a good man.His running mate was a psycho crazy bitch who did nothing but spew hatred and fear.
Bushs mistake was even going to Iraq. He should of stayed on Bin Ladens trail(the one who attacked us).
The Kool-aide thing is funny.I thought the same thing when I heard the Antichrist meme going around. And as far as killing babies goes..Obama has two of them.He wants what every parent wants for their children. He loves this country as much as both Bush and McCain.
I have heard in the past that God put Bush into Office..Maybe he put Obama in as well.
