Who else here wrote Obama after his 2004 DNC speech asking him to run?

1. I recall a guy posting "I just seen the next democratic president speak & his name is Barack Obama"

back in what, 2004?

At the time I agreed with him that this man Obama certainly gave a great speech....

BUT, I thought, no fucking way will he ever become president....I thought that the guy who posted the DU thread was simply just caught up in the Obama's speech....

However, I have thought about this guy often through the years...and wondered who he is on DU, and is he still around...because I can't recall his DU user-name from years ago.

I just wanted to say to him, CHEERS and what great insight dude!

2. It wasn't me, though I did sit down and write him a letter saying I'd do whatever it took to make

him our next president. Admittedly I initially supported Edwards (what a fuck wad - sorry - I am just so offended by what he did to his incredible wife) during the primaries but was happy to be back with Obama after he dropped out. :)

3. No it wasn't you, I would of remembered your name, because

you've been around DU a long time, just as I have, (I first joined DU in Feb 2001 - only under a different user name then, I think you might remember my names).

I also supported Edwards, he had the best LIBERAL platform by far.....

I wish I could recall who it was who had that insight after that Obama speech more than four years ago....but I never will know...still, a great call by him and YOU as well, writing & offering your support for his campaign.

Looking back on it, however, Bush beat Kerry by using fear and distractions. As bad as it was for Kerry, it would have been even worse for Barack due to his name, the fact he's half-black, etc.
