Something to look forward to. Think about all the apocalyptic shit supposed to happen now... |

The wingnuts have been scaremongering so bad and so relentlessly on the impact of an Obama administration, that now the people suckered into believing the fear tactics should be quaking in their boots. I had a couple of my more gullible students come up to me today talking about how President-elect Obama is so pro-abortion and pro-gay-marriage. I asked each of them (separately) where they heard this stuff & they both said they got it from friends at their churches.
Now, while our Republican friends amble about waiting for the world to end, they'll have to live with the dawning realization that Obama is not a terrorist, nor a socialist, nor a radical, nor a tax evader, nor a clueless greenhorn, nor a reflexive pacifist, nor tax-crazed family destroyer. He won't increase the abortion rate; he won't force churches to accept & endorse gay marriage; and his wife won't run a poolhall/nightclub out of the White House basement.
Actually that last item doesn't sound too bad.
By giving into lying about their opponents, these scaremongers are only distancing themselves from their remaininf

2. He-he. I've got an idea... |

How's about we start a rumor that large numbers of people have just plumb disappeared since the election? People from all over the world, just ... gone. A few here, a few there, but they add up. Adding up all the reports from all over, it comes to the astounding total of about 144,000 disappeared. OMG, the weeping and wailing of all those who thought they were saved but are now "left behind."
I personally know of three people whom I haven't seen or heard from since Tuesday night. How about you?

4. They've gone a long way to ensure 2 terms for Obama |
|
By painting these dismal scenarios of what life would look like under his administration, they have effectively done Obama a service by lowering expectations among many middle of the road/slightly right leaning voters who held their noses and voted for McCain.
And when none of that comes to pass, I suspect it will be an eye opener for a lot of them.
