Coleman - If he was Franken he wouldn't request a recount
Well isn't that special.

As a recount looms over Minnesota's hotly contested Senate race, Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) said this morning that if he were in the shoes of opponent Al Franken, he would refuse a recount and let a "healing process" begin for Minnesotans. Coleman declared victory in the race at an early morning press conference.

Although the final tally has not yet been released, unofficial tallies report a 400 to 700 vote margin in Coleman’s favor– well within the requirements for a recount under Minnesota state law.

“If you asked me what I would do, I would step back,” Coleman told reporters, calling Franken’s likelihood of overturning enough votes
to win “extremely, extremely, extremely remote.”

“I just think the healing process is so important,” Coleman said. “The
possibility of any change of this magnitude in the voting system we
have is so remote.” Franken said in a statement this morning that he would seek a recount of the nearly three million votes cast, although Coleman questioned if “such a step is worth the tax dollars it would take to process.”

Secretary of State Mark Ritchie says he expects the recount could take several weeks to complete.

Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybek criticized Coleman’s declaration of victory, telling KSTP-TV that, until the recount is complete, “we won’t know what Minnesotans wanted.”

11. In the interest of bi-partisanship, Norm should step aside and let
Al join the Senate. After all, its Al's turn. You know, just for the healing process.

20. Screw Coleman. He and his buddies ran one of the most vitriolic,
hateful and deceitful campaigns I have ever seen in Minnesota. Now he's requesting that Franken let the state heal by handing him the election? This from the guy who has sued every person he ever has run against because they start punching back against his slime?

Maybe the more magnanimous thing for him to do if he is so concerned about "healing" would be to concede. That would definitely make me happy.

If he gave a damn about the state healing he would have run a less disturbing campaign. And he would let the automated recount mandated by state law go forward without trying to interfere. He had no business declaring victory and he knows it. This is the same crap Bush pulled in Florida in 2000.

Coleman is a slimeball and I'm convinced he stole this election and is afraid he is about to get caught.

And Norm, it's definitely worth the tax dollars to me to haul your ass out of here. I can't wait to see your ass sitting in prison.

25. Won't work anymore, Norm, you idiot
We had to hear "Get over it" and "We need to move on" and "Let the healing start" in '00 and '04. NOT GONNA FALL FOR IT AGAIN.

Besides, why is this even relevant, if a recount is mandated by law? Shaddap, Norm. :eyes:
