Here's what I just wrote (yes, my last name is Reid, I figured it would be fun to go for humor!) :D :

Dear Cousin Reid - May I call you "Cousin"? I've been referring to every Reid as "Cousin Reid" since marrying my husband in 2003. It's nice to have a last name other people share, particularly a heavyweight Congressman such as yourself.

But enough about that, I'll go formal, on the off-chance it might help my case.

Dear Senator Reid:

After last night's landslide for President-elect Obama, I have only one more wish on my political Christmas list. That wish is that you would please, please, strip Joe Lieberman of his chairmanship, and of anything else you can possibly pull off his person, in Congress.

Senator Lieberman has betrayed the Democratic party, and he has behaved shamefully as John McCain's mouthpiece during this campaign. We do not have a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, so there is no tactical or strategic reason to continue tethering our future to this sinking ship. Joe Lieberman is a disgrace to politics, to Washington and to the Democratic party and we need to cut the cancer that is Joe Lieberman out of our party for good.

Please, Senator Reid, take a stand against the politics of hate and deception, and cut the poster boy for hate and deception, Joe Lieberman, loose for good. Democrats deserve so much better than him.
