Gen. Wesley Clark - Secretary of Defense or Head of Homeland Security
I'd like to see Gen. Wesley Clark as Secretary of Defense or Head of Homeland Security. Our Country could surely benefit from his incredible talents. After Sen. Obama won the primary, Gen. Clark worked hard on his behalf.

Question for Clark supporters - Would Gen. Clark be interested in either of these positions?

I hope President Obama cleans house. No Republicans remain. If they don't like it, they can thank Linda Tripp.

4. I Don't Think He can Be Sec. Of Defense Till 2010,
but maybe there's a way. I think he could be Head of Homeland Security though. God, it's good to see his name here again.

10. So what's the rule? You can't be in the cabinet unless you've been out of the military
for 10 yrs? seems like a bizarre rule to me...

12. It's only in place for the Secretary of Defense.
The reason is so that the Defense Department is headed by a civilian to keep proper checks and balances.

I'm assuming those who wrote the rule thought that those who had been out of military service for at least 10 years may have lost some of their "militaristic" thinking.

It's actually a pretty decent rule in that aspect.

5. I'd rather see Homeland Insecurity dismantled.
It's a useless beast, head to toe. Time to get rid of it.

13. Ummm...you do realize that Obama has said that his cabinet will include both parties, right?
Hate to be the one to break it to you, but I think Secretary of Defense of Homeland Security are the most likely spots for Republicans. Obama has specifically said that he thinks it's dangerous how politicized our foreign policy and national security have become.

14. Wes seems to have been ostracized since his comment about McCain
He wasn't at the convention, he hasn't been on MSNBC that I've seen and I watch it practically every night. What he said was controversial but not a lie. I hope Obama finds a place for him.

It may be too early for a place for Edwards though. The thought of him running with such a secret, and getting the nomination, sends shivers down my spine.

I hope Obama is never stupid enough to stray. Biden too.
