Kindergartners and Obama

Miz t. volunteers at our grammar school teaching kindergartners their ABCs.
All I can say is that she's a natural at this.
I've never seen anyone who can relate to 5 year olds like she does.

She works with them two at a time, outside the classroom at a little table in the hallway.
Today she had two little black kids, a boy and a girl.
She asked them if they knew what happened last night.
Both of them did.
"Obama is the president! Momma made me stay up and watch."

Well, she ain't just teachin' ABCs.
She talked to them about how important school was.
That if they studied and worked hard they could someday be president too.
Or anything they wanted to be.
And how they had just seen a very important part of history being made.

When she got home she was positively glowing.
God, I love this woman.
