1. No. Dems were too conservative and, like Republicans, excluded military and blacks from politics..

Jim Gilmore has made Virginia blue. He ruined VA for Vuh-gin-yins for a generation.

Democrats were dumb and Republicans were creepy. It was maddening. It's a state that elected Sen. Scott "The dumbest guy in the senate" and replaced him with Paul Tribble, of all people.

J. Marhsall Coleman. Ugh! Coleman had run for everything. He had been state attorney general.

Wilder had a bit of a 'plays well with others' problem. VA guvs cannot be re-elected, and Wilder's Light Gov lost to Jim Gilmore, who completely screwed up the state financial system getting rid of the car tax - which is one of the few PROgressive taxes.

George Allen, of course, was another vile governor back in the 90s.

Gerry Bailles kind of disappeared after being hinted for various posts in the Clinton Admin.
