I think Rahm is dragging his feet because he really wanted the senate seat or maybe Nancy's job |
|
Hmmmmmmmmm. I don't know. I wonder what Team Obama is thinking right now. I'm sure there is quite a bit of gnashing of the teeth in D.C. right now, some bitter feelings, jealousy, and factions of the party already planning to make life difficult for President Elect Obama.
I can't believe this fucking thing is playing like this out in the public. Who the fuck is Rahm Emmanuel to keep Obama waiting for an answer regarding COS? First he accepts, then reports say he never did, then reports that he's thinking about it. First of all, you don't have these sorts of discussions out in the public like this. Someone is leaking and it smells like it's coming from a now discredited faction of the Democratic party. I think they may try to test Obama.
And I think they will get their feelings severely hurt in the process. Don't fuck with Obama. It just doesn't work out for you.

7. Exactly. All of a sudden it feels like a whole new set of people are in charge. |
|
But I think there are some jealous ass folks on the Hill right now. I believe there are some folks who still feel some allegiance to a particular candidate. Some actually didn't believe Obama would win and win in such a fantastic way. Some of them are angling and triangulating. So, they are trying to paint a picture of him and his administration before they even get to D.C.

4. Meh. I doubt most folks are paying that much attention right now. If he declines |
|
I bet he'll have a good reason. Obama doesn't seem like the type who would get all bent about it.

9. I suspect if you were to ask the average American on the street, |
|
"Who is Rahm Emmanuel?" you would hear answers that vary from "a terrorist held at Guantanamo" to "a romance story novelist."

10. Another thing for Rep. Emanuel to remember |
|
He'll serve at the pleasure of President Obama. It's what one could call 'at-will employment.' If he decided to 'go rogue,' he'd be out of a job faster than you can say 'Jack Robinson.' Having given up his elected position, he'd be out of power for at least another election cycle.
Personally, I don't believe Emanuel would take the position if he intended to undermine President Obama, but I've been wrong before.

Unless it was I wouldn't trust what the MSM reports

13. So what is your source? ABC news, the MSM, did this come from Obama himself? |
|
I don't believe anything coming from the MSM unless I hear it from Obama directly
All through this campaign the MSM has spread disinformation

15. Wonder how long he has to think about it?? |
|
Obama can't wait...he has to know who's on board and who isn't, and get his team together...Jan 20th will be here before we know it...IF I were Emmanuel, I think I would decide quickly...or Obama may do it for him...and withdraw the offer...on the other hand, don't I recall that during the campaign, there were those Obama asked to do this or that...and they wavered, then declined??? I can't come up with anything definite...but I seem to recall this happening, was it when he was picking his VP???
