LOL Hannity Got Dressed Down By Karl Rove and Tommy Franks |
|
I'm sorry DU. I sincerely apologize but I'm enjoying my schadenfreud or whatever you call it. I made it a point to listen to and watch Hannity after winning the election because it's entertainment to me.
Hannity has been on this ridiculous rant all day on his radio show about starting the "conservative underground." He's just not gonna accept Obama as president. He's gonna start a movement, fight back, etc.
Tonight on his tv show, Karl Rove of all people, had to chastize him about how this is America, and the people have spoken, "You have to hope the president does well". He wasn't buying into Hannity's attempt to enlist him in his new confederacy. Rove might be evil, but he ain't stupid, asshole that he is.
Later he had General Tommy Franks on, only to get frustrated again as Franks proceeded to lecture him about how quickly the loyalty of the military goes to the president elected by the American people. Hannity almost cried when Franks told him in no uncertain terms that he has no doubts about Obama. You'd think Sean learned his lesson from Rove, but Franks had to tell him again, "this is America, the people have selected the next commander-in-chief." LOL
Hannity's little confederacy is having a hard time getting off the ground. When is this idiot going to realize that he and his little racist confederates don't represent America anymore? He's way over the line in my opinion, and his own guests are trying to tell him, but he's too stupid to hear it. I must say, watching him isolate himself like he's doing is extremely satisfying.

Would love to see it.
Oh, and musette, props for the confederacy of dunces reference, my favorite book. Do you think Hannity's going to start signing his blogs as "Lance, your besieged working boy?"

He died before he could find a publisher. His mother shopped it around after he died, and finally had it published.

9. This was great. I got to hear all about Hannity without suffering through listening to him! |
|
I'll really be interested to see how Hannity's "conservative underground" goes in the future. These things have a way of turning into militias.
IF you get a chance, you should check out Hannity's forums. Some liberals have signed up to gently tweak them about their defeat and the responses are quite humorous.

12. Here's what this asshole doesn't understand |
|
In 2000 and 2004 we had legitimate grievances against the manner in which Bush was elected. Selected, rather, in 2000. In 2004 there were some clearly substantiated issues in Ohio and all around the country of voter intimidation and GOP thuggery. For us to proclaim for the past eight years that Bush was NOT a legitimate President was valid. But we were told to "Get over it" and stop being unpatriotic, etc.
So in 2008, along comes Barack Obama who handily wins the Presidency by a landslide - 200 or so electoral votes over McCain. NOBODY can dispute the validity of this election. NOBODY can claim Obama wasn't chosen by the people, or that he doesn't have a mandate, or that he isn't the honest-to-God POTUS.
So Hannity the spoiled little shit just doesn't want to accept it, well, because he doesn't wanna. Because he's a spoiled little shit. Rules are for others, not him. "Get over it" applies to Democrats who lose, not Republicans. Patriotism means supporting the illegitimate Republican President, not the legitimate Democratic President. Dignity is for others, not him.
I realize perfectly well that Hannity is there to cater to and kiss the asses of the 20% of the idiots who still love George Bush and will believe whatever nonsense they're told. There's big money to be made in telling 60 million dipshits what they want to hear. And I doubt that on the side people like him believe the shit they spew. I'm sure a large part of their time is spend thinking up "the next thing I can get these dumb fucks to swallow, hook line and sinker." However, Hannity and his type should forever be used as a warning to independents, moderate Republicans (not that there are many of THOSE left), etc. as to what would happen when if those 20 per centers are given any power. We have to contain the 20 percenters, to make sure they never, ever grow to 21 percent or higher.
I say Hannity's remarks be quoted and forwarded along to anyone who might EVER consider voting Republican again if they think "maybe this party has learned its lesson and is capable of leading."

there is no way you will convince me that 56 million americans voted for McCain Palin. For the first time, I believe the election was rigged...in their favor. I believe about 27% of Americans are crazy (that the % who voted for Keyes over Obama for senate in Ill...dumbed the "crazification factor". But that would be about about 35 million ppl, not 56 million.
We've been robbed. I will die convinced 20 million votes cast for Obama were "flipped" by voting machines to McCain.
They thought that would be enough but it wasn't. But still, they cheated this time for sure.

that would cause the troops to disrespect the future Commander-in-Chief. It would be harmful to the military and to the country.

Obama describing "air-raids killing civilians in Afghanistan". Obama was DIRECTLY QUOTING the commander of the American forces operating in Afghanistan!!
Furthermore, either KO or Rachel had a story about Karzai now making the request to Obama to stop with the air-raids that threaten civilians, after making this request constantly for months if not years to Bush!

25. He spends an inordinate time railing against the "fairness doctrine" |
|
Heard him ranting about it (for the umpteenth time today). You don't even need to listen to him for very long to hear him bring it up. I don't know if we need to bring the "fairness doctrine" back or even if it would affect him (or any other radio talk show host) however he seems absolutely terrified about the prospect of having it back. He had a caller on today smugly bragging about the fact that the Repubs can still use the filibuster to stop legislation and that there is virtually no money left to enact any new programs, and that Obama's supporters will become disillusioned with Obama because he won't be able to do much. Sad, sorry SOBS.

29. Savage, Limbaugh and Hannity are the 3 absolutely worse talk show hosts around |
|
Savage's suggestion that Obama was going to visit his dying grandmother so that he could kill her (to cover up his birth certificate "scandal") was SO over the line I can't believe his sponsors didn't pull the plug on him right then and there. But I guess IOKIYAR (or whatever he is).
The only "conservative" host that I can stomach for more than a few minutes is Bill O'Lielly but, despite his occasional hiccups of "fairness" and "balance", even he spends a majority of his time bullying his guests (who he has on seemingly for no other reason than to bully them), furiously attempting to mislead/exaggerate, and, well, LIE. That being said at least he doesn't get down and out ugly like the three aforementioned hosts.
I just can't figure out how any of them remain on the air day after day, year after year, purportedly with thousands (or millions?) of listeners each day. IMHO it would puzzle even the smartest ivory tower-dwelling intellectual elitist snobs for decades (if not centuries) to come.

30. This was brought here as well -the fairness thing |
|
we had Rep Adam Smith who was the co-chair for the Obama campaign here in Washington and the talk radio host Dori tried to see if if the house was going to push it through.
Adam Smith was kind of dumbfounded. He said he heard that maybe a few members of the house had mentioned it but it is hardly top priority. They have a large economic problems to deal with.
talk radio from the right is so weird. Like congress is only thinking about them.
