My county here in western PA went for McCain by about 2,000 votes. It also went for Bush in 2004, by a slightly smaller margin.
At least PA itself made the right choice!

I can relate because I'm originally from Oklahoma and they didn't vote for Obama, but then they didn't even vote for JFK. But, YOU made the right choice! So you and the majority in PA came through like champions! :yourock:

2. Thanks, that makes me feel a little better |

My wife and I commiserated with a fellow Liberal today, even as we celebrated the overall victory.

3. My county in central FL was the same way...it went 55% for McCain, in 2004 it went 58% Bush. |

6. We felt (and feel) weirdly isolated in the wake of the election results |

To be fair, my neighbors are all very nice people (except that asshole who blazes up and down the street on his four-wheeler at all hours), but my wife and I still feel like we're surrounded...

4. Hey, at least you tried |

I had the same feeling when I saw that racist shitbag Sheriff Joe Arpaio was re-elected in Phoenix. I only lived there for 2 1/2 years as a transplant and have since moved home to NY, but I was STILL deeply ashamed.

7. Really instills a sense of pride in the human condition |

And aren't you a gamer, too? I imagine that plays well in the heavily conservative regions...

I was lucky because I lived in Tempe, which is a college town. It's when I ventured out to the rest of the Valley that I was slapped by how fail that place was.
