If Gov. Rod Blagojevich has someone specific in mind to fill out the unexpired Senate term of President-Elect Barack Obama, he's not tipping his hand.

Blagojevich said Wednesday that senior staff members will check those who wish to fill the final two years of Obama's Senate term.

The governor said whoever is chosen must share his passion for insuring the uninsured and push such programs on a national level. But he said he won't name himself.

"I'm not interested in the U.S. Senate," said Blagojevich, a former U.S. congressman. "I like my job as governor."

1. I see several who may be campaigning for the job....

Maybe that is why Rahm has not "accepted" the chief of staff job. Maybe he wants the Senate seat. I figure Jessie Jackson, Jr.will get the nod. There are others, Jan Schakowsky and Lisa Madigan that may be on the list also.

Someone more knowledgeable in IL politics can add to my conjecture.

I guess I should have read the whole article before posting. LOL. I thought Tammy Duckworth was a long shot, as well.
