This isn't sinking in easy for me. "Will be 44th" and "President -Elect" |

To hear those words over and over again is still a bit unnatural sounding.
I keep pinching myself, reliving those horrible days in 2000 and 2004.
Then, seeing the screen captures of the shocked and frightened McCain supporters, my first instinct is empathy. I know how they feel. I know EXACTLY how they feel.
Hopefully, the fearful Obama the "terrorist" and "no-friend of America" messages from Palin and Co will drift off quietly. I hope Hannity, Limbaugh, OReilly, etc drift off into obscurity.

1. Don't count on Limbag softening. |

His oxy-laced vitriol will be with us as long as puke sponsors keep shoveling the $$$$$$$$$$$ to EIB.

As for the Repukes, they'll get over it. Honestly, what have they done for this country besides tear it asunder? Their fear and shock is based on irrationality. Our fears were REAL. There is no comparison. JMO.

First, about those shocked and frightened McCain Supporters...one of the reasons they are so fearful is because they internalized all their own lies and myths about Obama...they fear things that Obama never was (as a person) and things he will never do (as a President). There won't be "conservative re-education camps" and we're not going to Nationalize all businesses, we' re not going to "ban the pledge of allegiance" but that's the kind of bulls**t they swallowed in the "all-fear-all-the-time" campaign that the Rove inspired machine ran. It will take time for the effects of the fear-mongering to wear off.
As for O'Reilly, limbaugh and the rest of the paid hate-mongers...they will thrive on prejudice, fear and hate and their ratings will go up.... sigh.....

7. "Their ratings will go up" |
|
I tend to disagree. Hate-commentary ratings have peaked and will continue to decline, especially among coveted demographics. The hate mongers will survive through Obama's first term. Beyond that, they will change their tone or fall off the airwaves. Some will change their tone, some will simply fall away.
The end of the genre is in sight. That's my prediction.

5. I heard Bill O'Leilly say "President Obama" |

He looked like he would choke, but he said those two sweetest words. It was priceless.
