1. Just turn off the TV
The best 'fuck you' you can give a show is to not watch it. It's that simple. I rarely watch Morning Joe because it annoys me. So I don't turn it on. I don't watch Fox News because it's bullshit. So I don't turn it on. Sometimes the most powerful action you can perform is to not do anything at all.

3. I watched Imus in that time slot for years, because CNN & Fox were so bad.
In spite of his annoying ways, Imus had a lot more useful political news and interviews than CNN or Fox. But Joe Scarborough is like getting nonstop robo calls from the RNC.

I watch that show for minutes at a time, but as soon as Joe starts in with any of his RNC talking points, I'm gone. As soon as Pat Buchanan appears, I'm gone.

9. How bad is it?
Imus was better than Joe. Sure he was a racist, sexist old fucker but he was an equal-opportunity skewer and he did interview both Repugs and Dems. Joe? RNC Talking Points all the way aided and abetted by Mika the Mouse.

23. MSNBC has a real decision to make, and I am serious ...
first, I have LONG not been able to watch the show, not only because he is a flat out republican buckethead, but just because of the PAINFUL dynamics between him, Mike and the people who are on the show - I say this over and over, but it is like an abusive fathers/spouse, his substance abusing wife and the children cowing to dad so they won't get beaten.

It just is horrible, flat horrible.

BUT, that aside, they have a real problem in that their morning flagship show is going to go into the presidency with a HEAVY negative slant toward that, fairly popular president. The R haters, they have Fox, but MSNBC REALLY risks, much like McCain did in the election, of alienating the people in the middle.

They have a real hard decision to make here - the morning joe brand is nice, but joe himself is a problem for them.

enlightening as a bucket of paint. Her soul stuff is too weird for me.

13. He's a crossover kind of bobblehead with all his hunting talk.
And his voice sounds like Rush Limpball's. He could be successful in that time slot.

16. If MSNBC wants us
to take them seriously, they better act fast and get rid of this
fascist and his sidekick.

His show is at the bottom of the ratings when compared to other
cable morning shows.

What a drab... get rid of them YESTERDAY.

That and the landslide election (when you factor in all the trashed/flipped votes) for Obama.

19. I'd like to see an African-American host
Not one single cable talk show has a black host.

Isn't it interesting that America is obviously ready for a black president, but cable news is still not ready for a black talk show host.

20. I don't care what gender/ethnicity the host is. I just want a damn liberal on the morning show.
Edited on Thu Nov-06-08 11:24 AM by valerief
I noticed when we started shipping jobs to India, we saw more Indian-American newscasters on cable. When there was more and more news about how China owned us, we saw more Asian-American faces. We're seeing more African-American faces now, but, yeah, an AfAm host is long overdue.

30. We do see more blacks as guests-who appear for one segment, say their piece, then disappear
While the white hosts and their white regular guests remain on throughout, day after day and night after night, shaping the feel and perspective and determining the direction, scope and focus of the respective shows. Until blacks start being treated as more than cameo tokens on these programs, I won't be satisfied.

21. I really hate to see right wing bullshit on TV. I refuse to watch the AM
show and will email MSNBC and let them know why.
Maybe if enough folks do that, the show will change.

It's TV - Money talks.

If we launched an all out coordinated DU email campaign to rid the a.m. hours of him we could help MSNBC make a serious change..to wit: decide to become the Progressive Alternative to Fox.
But...that's just me. Now who wants PIE !?!?!?:woohoo:

It'd be an especially big Fuck You to Joe Scarborough after the fucked up pissing fight that he started with David Shuster just because David ACCURATELY called Joe Scarborough a Republican.
