As we rebuild our infrastructure, I hope they put controls in place to purchase QUALITY materials. |

A steelworker called into CSPAN a few years back and talked about the LOW GRADE steel we were importing to build bridges. It won't last and will cost us big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in the long run. We should be using high quality, U.S. steel.

1. Recent administrations gave away our steel industry, jobs, and the economy. |
|
And it was just peachy for the economy in the short run and great if you were in the tiny minority who would benefit.
But this was not sustainable, and the chickens have come home to roost.
Remember, everyone was going to have jobs in the burgeoning new information age?
Don't worry, steelworker, we'll retrain ya! You betcha!
But then those jobs never materialized and what few did were outsourced.

2. Lots of money made on ed loans and the tech schools selling us that idea. |
|
Now I see the tech school ads are selling re-education to criminology, forensic sciences and related fields. Look for that industry to go bust soon.
