NYT: Palin's Wardrobe Is to Be Audited by GOP Lawyers

http://www.abcnews.go.com/GMA/Politics/story?id=6196407&page=1

<snip>

The tension is likely to continue or get worse. Lawyers for the Republican National Committee are heading to Alaska to try to account for all the money that was spent on clothing, jewelry and luggage, according to The New York Times.

I admit that's kinda small for a real Republican. But she's only a rookie. Give her time.

20. The IRS is going to be her downfall
Her released tax forms already show short payment. Then she will have to pay tax on all the clothes. (at income rate) Rough estimate is she owes $100,000, I guarantee you the Bimbo and Bimbo dude have very low reserves.

30. Also, a Louis Vuitton DUFFEL BAG was spotted on her plane this morning!
Also, lil Piper's Louis Vuitton purse retails for about $900; so also the duffel bag at only $1,000 is also good value, as the Brits would say. Also, the daughters were trippin' around in Gucci shoes, as well. In addition to being a narcissist, Sarah has some strange grammatical dyslexia which forces her to use the term also in every sentence, as well.

According to the Mudflats blog, her plane arrived before dawn in Anchorage today, and she got off wearing jeans and 5 inch heels in 10 degree weather. Then she schmoozed her adoring fans waiting for her, and gave a little speech to the reporters, signed autographs, etc., for about an hour. Unfortunately, no one could leave until she did - is that like the Queen of England, or something? Didn't see her long-suffering infant anywhere - maybe he was in a Louis Vuitton bag as well, also.

I personally am hopin' for one more Tina Fey performance on SNL. The skit would have Carribou Barbie doin' some fancy pageant walkin' in her hotel suite while talkin' on her cell phone to Sarkozy. She's wearin' only a bath towel and 2 of McCain's male staffers are sittin' slack-jawed on a sofa watchin' her.

22. Republican elitist frat boys chose Caribou Barbie
why can't one of the Republican stars pay for her shopping? Rich Lowry perhaps. Grover Norquist could lay down some cash.

And what disgusting elitists the Republicans are. They push the inexperienced fundamentalist at us and swear she's a wonderful reformer. They decide she needs better clothes and push her into the stores.
Then they turn around and slam her for doing what they told her to do in the first place.

Ooooh. She bought TOOOO MAAAANY CLOOOOTHES ! Oooh. She spent too much Republican money. Oooh. How horrible.

Pardon me, but the RNC's actions seem far worse to me. Sitcom Sarah was making her best of the situation.

I thought chosing Sarah showed the Republican party's contempt for the majority of the American people, but please LOOK WHO'S TALKING. That's the RNC scumbag squad that is complaining that she bought more clothes than they wanted her to. So she's an Alaskan from the Appalachian mountain region.

I hate Nicole Wallace a lot more than Sitcom Sarah.

25. I agree with what you said. The republicans told her what to do.
Now they're trying to cover their asses & blame everything on her. Same slimey worms they've always been. It's like the whole party has adopted Tom Delay's personality. And, NATURALLY, they're trying to go after a WOMAN. I've had to work with republican slime my whole career, and they do this religiously: gang up on a woman to take her out of the game, and then go back to stabbing each other in the back and screwing each other over. They're just SICK.

32. Nope. They told her 3 suits for the convention & a stylist, anticipating $20,000.
She pushed the staff assigned to her to charge clothes for her, her kids and her husband, on their personal credit cards. I'm no fan of Nicole Wallace, but Sarah's the one who shopped coast to coast. You know nobody told her to buy her 6 year old a Louis Vuitton purse ($900) or 12 other pieces of luggage, including a Louis Vuitton duffel bag ($1,000). And Sarah's the one who dragged her poor infant around from early morning to late night, around all kinds of crowds, noise and bright lights. And Sarah, one of the most pigheaded, stubborn persons ever, is determined to get back to DC in some elected capacity, so I think she's potentially much more dangerous to our democracy than Wallace.

27. But didn't McCain himself say about 1/3 of everything was already
returned to the stores? And the rest are going to charity? How did it all end up in Alaska? Palin said the wardrobe was just part of the set decor, like the lights and things, so I would have assumed that they would have been packed up with all the equipment, not continue to travel around with her.

As a matter of fact, a little over a week ago, she announced she was back to wearing her own clothes. So why does the RNC have to go to Alaska? Didn't she just leave all that stuff that she hadn't worn for over a week down here in the lower 48?
