Doesn't matter at this point, but...
It hit me after the fact how much MORE of a landslide Obama potentially could have had. He hit the nail on the head in that the Fox news noise machine probably cost him a point or two in the polls/election but I think that's putting it mildly.

I found out after the election that my parents and my brother voted for Obama. Now this isn't a HUGE stretch because they are all dems, albeit of the very moderate variety. But they all said the same thing. That they voted for Obama, but that it was tough for them to do so because it would raise their taxes. Now they do very well for themselves. Very well. But I know for a fact not $250K well, which is the threshold that will get hit (maybe, and even then not so much and also....so what).

So it struck me that probably for every one of them who voted for Obama despite that misinformation that there were probably many more who erred on the other side and DIDN'T vote for him because times are tough and they thought he would raise their taxes even though that's not the case.

Again, we won handily and with a mandate so thinking about what could have been doesn't serve any purpose other than to just make me want to smack my hand against my own forehead.
