Also, this means that the slimey Mark Halperin's election prediction was wrong! (though, he did say that he thought the 348 was the floor and not the ceiling).

Obama adds symbolic NC victory to White House win

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/P/PRESIDENT_NORTH_CAROLINA?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2008-11-06-12-14-00

By MIKE BAKER and BARBARA RODRIGUEZ
Associated Press Writers

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) --

President-elect Obama has won North Carolina, a symbolic triumph in a state that hadn't voted for a Democrat in more than a generation.

The Associated Press declared Obama the winner Thursday after canvassing counties in North Carolina to determine the number of outstanding provisional ballots.

That survey found that there are not enough remaining ballots for Republican John McCain to close a 13,693-vote deficit.

North Carolina's 15 electoral votes brings Obama's total to 364 - nearly 100 more than necessary to win the White House. Missouri is the only state that remains too close to call.

Obama's win in North Carolina was the first for a Democratic presidential candidate since Jimmy Carter won the state in 1976.

:woohoo:

Edited on Thu Nov-06-08 03:56 PM by rebel with a cause
Most of the mid-west, well what I call the mid-west except for Missouri. What remains red is most of the south, the prairie states (except Illinois) and the cowboy states.

I don't really call Illinois a prairie state although it is called the prairie state. Part of the state is prairie (the middle section) but the further south you get in the state, the hillier it is.

49. I told you so! I told you so! I told you so!
People made such nasty comments about me when I said NC WAS going to go to Obama. I said it RIGHT after the primaries ended. Heck, I even got PM's telling me how NC wasn't even in play.

Well guess what! I was fucking RIGHT and everyone who called me names, told me they were from Georgia and NC was just like Georgia, who told me that I didn't know what I was talking about because I was only 26 but they were adults and they knew from experience... to all those idiots who said NC would NEVER EVER go blue...

I WAS FUCKING RIGHT! HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES!

NC = BLUE FOR OBAMA.
