8. As did mine. Woo hoo! Not that many for Merkley East of the Cascades.
Maybe my brief stint at phone banking for him counted a bit. Whatever it was, the results were just what we needed. Smith is OUTA here. Yes!

14. I have to think the extra high turnout helped Merkley.
People who were excited enough about Obama to actually vote, most likely voted for Merkley over Smith. Just a guess.

18. The Constitutional Party candidate helped even more
by garnering 5% of the vote from Libertarian nutcases who would have otherwise broken strongly for Smith.

17. His most recent piece was very odd and disjointed
He couldn't seem to string together coherent thoughts.
Maybe he contracted Palin disorder.

30. My daughter's invited me
to Portland, Ore over Thanksgiving so I'm going and my son and his wife are going to be there from Kaua'i!

First we'll be in the Hood River area and then around the first of December we'll be at their house in Portland.

Maybe I could give you a call just to say "YES WE DID!"?:)

19. Hey Parche -
I was at a press conference just a little while ago with Senator Wyden, Portland Mayor Adams, Commissioners Leonard and Wheeler, and... Senator-elect Jeff Merkley!

They talked about creating jobs for Oregon, and especially about getting Fed funding for infrastructure.

Exhilarating!

24. We were in the parking lot
outside the NW Oregon Labor Council in SE Portland. About 30 people, mostly labor folks.

KGW was there, and several other reporters, so it will be on the news. You'll be happy to know they focused on replacing the Sellwood Bridge and improving roads -- creating jobs while securing our future! Wyden said they would be working their tails off during the lame duck session coming up to get those funds to Oregon immediately.

WOO-DAMN-HOO!!

4. This is what I've been waiting for!!! Obama's win was absolutely amazing, but
this one is running a close second for me. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Smith was an absolute drag on this state and his hypocricy knew no bounds.

Now, hopefully he won't run for governor.
