I Never Meant to Be Derogatory to Obama When I wrote "Owes Hillary" yesterday |
|
I never meant to be derogatory to Obama, God knows how much I campaigned for him, but I meant that due to Hillary's tough campaign he was able to immunize himself against Pastorgate, Ayersgate, Bittergate...he was so immunized against them that McCain and Palin looked ridiculous and desperate when they brought them up again. You know that McCain and his allies splashed Pastorgate over and over the TV channels for 3 days prior to the lection and it did not work, as a matter of fact it backfired. Obama was a great candidate but like in every tough race, if you had a tough primary against someone then you are better equipped to handle the GE, which Obama did beautifully. That is what I meant.

by associating him with Ayers, it's going to be awfully hard for many people to take you seriosuly.

2. Her claim immunized him for the GE. See, it backfired on Palin and McCain |
|
The thing that made some progress for McCain is "Taxes" because we had not discussed that issue at length in the Primaries; nonetheless, Obama's campaign was able to win the issue against McCain. I think that instead of fighting over the primaries we should remain united and give both Obama and Hillary their due. I believe Hillary is a great Democrat and so is Obama.

Hillary didn't make that claim, Palin did.
You're still running away from your claim.
Maybe you know it's false.

Show me the quotes where Hillary Clinton implied Obama is a terrorist.
You made the claim, not me. You haven't backed it up, and instead are running away from it.
And you're taking my words about Palin and saying I said them about Hillary? Use your brain, please.

His response to me calling him out on the lies he just told about Hillary?
Blame it on the OPer.
When that doesn't fly, he then drags out some thread I created to counter Palin's "palling around" with terrorist claims.
Hillary didn't claim that, Palin did.
He said Hillary implied Obama was a terrorist, I'm still waiting for him to back it up.

28. Kerry2008, for the last couple of months... |

People at DU and elsewhere have held firm to the belief that implying Obama is a terrorist via guilt by association with Bill Ayers is highly racist, deeply despicable, and offensive to anybody with a shred of dignity.
I see no reason to suddenly reverse that stance.

"Senator Obama served on a board with Mr. Ayers for a period of time, the Woods Foundation, which was a paid directorship position.
And, if I'm not mistaken, that relationship with Mr. Ayers on this board continued after 9/11 and after his reported comments, which were deeply hurtful to people in New York and, I would hope, to every American, because they were published on 9/11, and he said that he was just sorry they hadn't done more.
And what they did was set bombs. And in some instances, people died."
-Hillary Clinton
So not only did she try to connect Obama and Ayers, she brought up 9-11 for good measure. But I assume you already remember that debate.
Basically, your argument boils down to "it's OK when Clinton does it."
Do I really need to explain the problem with that logic?

then claiming it's the anti-Hillary people who are doing it. I started off in the Hillary camp, but even I could see what she was doing.
Obama would have won anyway. I'm extremely glad that she and Bill finally came on board, but I'm not going to give them credit for the win.

They will not be happy until they take down everything good and right about the Clintons. They're embarrassing to watch. The Clinton haters are like the PUMAs, but they don't see it in themselves, had Hillary gotten the nomination then many of those same people would have been the PUMAS, refusing to vote for her. Some of us have gotten over the ugliness of the primaries, and others.. well.. they refuse to move on.

10. Their long campaign registered 1000's of more Dems as both sides fought for every vote. |
|
They also galvanized Democrats and kept them involved in the campaign. I believe the long primary fight helped the party in the end. PUMA's were as real as unicorns.
