MO gov (repuke) condemns prof's remark that Obama lost MO because of "racist vote"
Edited on Thu Nov-06-08 01:59 PM by proud2Blib
Gov. Matt Blunt today roundly condemned a St. Louis University professor for suggesting that Barack Obama may lose the Show-Me State because of the "racist vote in rural Missouri."

St. Louis University political scientist Ken Warren said this to the St. Louis Beacon Wednesday:

"I would say unequivocally that the racist vote in rural Missouri cost him the state. People don't like to use that term, but what else do you call it? We have the data to support that."

Blunt would have none of it.

In a statement today, Blunt called Warren's claim "abhorrent" and one that should be "condemned by officials in both political parties."

Blunt, who is leaving office in January, also described the statements as "detestable" and "absolutely incorrect.

Nope, racism had absolutely nothing to do with Obama losing Missouri. Nothing at all! :sarcasm:

8. No, and that billboard stinks.
Bill Clinton was depicted as a stupid hillbilly. Really, he was. The posters of Bill and Hillary dressed like hillbillies were all over DC.

They pull that shit all the time.

who have been housing the local Obama office director since July and had also opened up their home to other campaign volunteers in the week before the election.

She said the town is horrified at the attention its receiving--there are those who are ashamed of the racists because the majority of the town is not like that, and those that are ashamed they got caught. She also said the guy that has the sign up had a Kerry one up in its place for 4 years until he put the Obama sign up.

6. I have spent enough time in southern MO to know there are
some good kind-hearted folks there. But just like here in the city, there are racist assholes too.

I just went to a convenience store in the middle of a largely African American community and there was a white guy in there railing on and on about socialism and the evils of more welfare under President Obama. I looked around and he and I were the ONLY white people in the store. Now how dumb do you have to be to go into a Black neighborhood and talk shit like that in front of Black people?

Gotta love MO. And hey, I teach their children. LOL

5. If I had to lay blame, I'd put it down to voter suppression
apparently the outcome in MO may be decided by provisional ballots. If the repukes hadn't worked so hard to make sure that "those ones" didn't vote, there'd be fewer provisionals and more Obama votes counted. :grr:
