For all of my fellow MO GOTV workers who feel bad about MO.....
I worked GOTV in MO on Monday and Tuesday. And I feel really bad that we lost (or looks like we will). But, remember that McLame and Palin HAD to spend a lot of time campaigning in Missouri. Palin made three stops in the last week and McCain made two. And for every day Palin/McCain was in MO she could not be in FL, OH, VA, PA, NC, CO, NM and NV!!

And I talked to a 2 McCain workers on Saturday in Kansas City that said they had shifted GOTV resources and phone banks from PA, NV and OH to Missouri because of the MO GOTV charge from Obama in MO. And the two workers were in Ohio the previous day!!!

So it really is that if we had not had the GOTV work in MO, then they can use the McCain resources elsewhere and maybe win those states!

This is really a 50 state campaign when you realize that limited resources need to be allocated somehwere. So really, all of us, no matter which state, really helped win PA, OH, VA, NC, FL, NM, CO and NV!!!

DUers, thanks for all of your help in MO and other states!!

1. Making MO close helped Obama,
...regardless of whether he gets their electoral votes.

It was a great strategy that worked. It was a rout any way you look at it so no one should feel badly that not every state was won. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication! :yourock:

edit for silly mistake

4. That's half of the 50 state strategy is tying down the oppo. The other half is...
you're building a ground team for future elections. Every voter you talk to and appeal to doesn't forget your work with them after Election Day. The old DNC/DLC 10 state strategy just assumed that red state voters all "reset to red" each election. Fifty state is about building relationships with a community--long term planning. It won't happen all in one year. You're building a team for future elections as well. Missouri can be turned; it's just a matter of waking enough of them up and keeping them awake.
