4. Exactly, they will make a GREAT team in the WH
President Obama the Good Cop, WH CoS Rahm Emanuel the Bad Cop, he will make sure that President Obama's legislative agenda doesn't get stalled by anyone.

Also Emanuel will make sure the WH staff are totally on the ball on pretty much every issue.

5. I remember arguing with you briefly over the DLC last week.
We had agreed to pick up such discussion after the win!

You may be happy to know that I'm fine with Emanuel as Obama's pick.

Isnt it funny how the GOP/media is trying to paint Emanuel as some raging Liberal who never agrees with even moderate Republicans?

Despite media spin, this pick is in keeping w/ Obama's theme of governing from the center, and I'm fine with it.

6. Excellant!
First of all, we WON, and I'm still getting over it, after being nervous for DAYS pre-election, the utter relief has been wonderful :)

Of course the media whores will trash Rahm Emanuel, they will trash ANY Democrat, but I don't care what the media whores say anymore....we won, the keys to the Emerald City are now ours, we control every branch of Government and one thing I hope the Democratic politicians do is to restore The Fairness Doctrine....the Right-Wing media whores need cutting down to size, the playing field needs to be level.

President Obama is going to make some stunning Cabinet choices, going on his choosing of Rahm Emanuel as WH CoS, you can just feel the Cabinet choices will be very very good.

I'm glad you and I can agree, I much prefer to find things to agree on with fellow Democrats, united is so much nicer than divided :)

11. John Kerry would make a good Secretary of State or Attorney-General I think
It saddens me, because I think John Edwards would be perfect as Attorney-General, but the silly so and so really let so many people down, messing about with that bimbo woman, and the further mess that followed it.

Not that I think extra-marital affairs are any business of anyone except those who are directly involved, but at a time when Elizabeth Edwards is very ill, and her husband lied to people who supported him....it just makes Edwards look very shallow as a person.

Friends, yes :)

3. This site has repeated posts about how smart Obama is
and I agree. I trust him to make good decisions, and I'm sure not going to second guess him.

8. Yeah, well he also prevented good progressive Democrats from getting elected

As just one example, back in 2006, Rahm stiff-armed the excellent David Lutrin in favor of former Repub/newly-converted Democrat Tim Mahoney to run for politically-dead-in-the-water pervert Republican Mark Foley's Florida congressional seat. Mahoney won that seat -- but Lutrin, the infinitely better Democratic candidate, would have won too had he been supported by the DCCC.

Fast forward to this past Tuesday: the Republicans have now regained possession of Florida's 16th-district seat, as Tim Mahoney, Emanuel's hand-picked guy, turned out to be a corrupt philanderer.

Republican Tom Rooney, the 16th-district's new congressman, says 'Thanks, Rahm!' for all the election help. :eyes:

Who cares about Emanuel's stripping lame duck Cheney's office of interior design funding? Cheney got all the help he ever needed from Rahm back in 2002/2003 when Emanuel was the head DLC House cheerleader for the Iraq War invasion.

10. So all this media spin about Rahm not being willing to work with the GOP is false.
For better or for worse!!!

I'm not disagreeing with anything you said, BTW.

12. i like rahm a lot
months ago i was hoping for him for chief of staff. in 8 years i could see myself supporting him for succeeding obama as president. this pick keeps him from challenging pelosi's leadership position, which i wouldn't mind, but also marries him to obama in in preparation for a run in 2016. biden will be too old at 73.

13. Only cut his funding..
Take away his SS protection, limo, VP house, Mary Matalin and give him a one-way bus ticket to AR.
