Prediction - Texas Will Be A Swing State In 2012
We increased six points from 2004 to 2008 with no involvement from the Obama campaign at all in the state. If Obama makes a lunge at it and increase the vote total by another six points, you're looking at a 50-50 state.

Depending on who the GOP nominates, say someone like Mitt Romney, that's a distinct possibility.

3. Yep! The only reason AZ was so close was because McFart was from there.
Lots of mormons there though. :P

2. ...unless the Republicans pick a candidate from there. Otherwise, looks like a reasonable assumption

4. What progressive legislative initiatives will help make that happen?
Is it a focus on one group of potential voters or something that addresses across-the-board needs of Texans?

I'd love to see Texas blue. I'd love to see the entire Great Plains blue.

6. Texas money and Texas manpower for Texas Democrats ONLY
I've heard too many of my fellow Texans claim that the DSCC and the DCCC look at Texas as some sort of giant ATM to fund other states' candidates. Last I heard, Rick Noriega didn't receive a damn dime from the DSCC. But how much Texas money over the years went to fund the races of people such as Dianne Feinstein and Joe Lieberman, I wonder?

8. Change is coming
I thought 'swing state' was not so much meant to mean it was just going to change from red to blue but that by doing so it could effect who wins the election. As well as President Obama did this year if he has any success in his first term it won't matter how Texas votes.
