Class? What Class?
Okay, so this isn't going to be a very popular thread, but I feel compelled to post it anyway.

I understand the desire to rub this victory in the faces of those who have made our lives miserable for the past 8 years. I too, feel the same way. I wore a wrist band for six years straight in protest of the Bush Administration and demanding his impeachment. It didn't happen. I took it off the night that Obama gave his acceptance speech.

I would like nothing more than to have these criminals tried and jailed for what they have done to our country.

I have been called un-American, a traitor, a pussy, America Hater, etc. etc. I'm sure you have been called the same. I've lost relationships and survived a split in our family over what the "uniter" has done. No one wants to make these people pay more than I do.

By way of an analogy, I leave you this brief story...

Just prior to Vince Lombardi's retirement from the NFL, one of his players asked him at a team meeting why he was not allowed to celebrate in the end zone after he scored a touchdown. Coach Lombardi took a deep breath looked around the locker room and said the following...When you spike the ball and dance around the end zone you are saying two things. First, you are showing disrespect to your opponents who are themselves fine athletes in their own right. Secondly, you are telling your opponents that making it to the end zone is a rare event causing you to lose self-control. Don't ever let your opponent think that victory or even a simple score is rare...let them know that you have been there before and you will be there again.

As for myself, I will take the lead that President Obama has set for us. And while I disagree with my opponents, I will show class in victory and determination in defeat.

Do not reduce yourself down to their tactics. Hold your head high and let your silence speak as only it can.

-P
