A Deal I'll make with Sarah Palin |
|
Edited on Fri Nov-07-08 02:06 AM by PretzelWarrior
I'll agree to go ahead and feel sorry for you as a human being who is currently being set up as the biggest scapegoat in Republican politics in some time IF-IF....you agree to never step foot outside of Alaska politically ever again.
Your message was accurate. You are one of the regular folks. Not well educated. Not well trained. Not experienced or mentored. You had NO BUSINESS being anywhere near that presidential ticket. Those Washington insiders with their gotcha tactics probably had their reasons, but you should have known better. Facing the klieg lights of national and international media is not something you can prepare for by being a PTA mom, mayor of a podunk town or governor of a backwater state. I mean, even Mississippi is backwater but at least they have more than a few hundred thousand people there.
So here's the deal. You can keep the clothes and your wonderful foreign policy experience down at the U.N. that one week. But stay put. If you so much as rear your head even a little bit into our air space, we will be after you. We'll be on you like cops on Ted Stevens. We'll be on you like old on John McCain.
Have fun in your little icebox up in the north and leave "REAL" America alone. <---- this last line isn't genuine. I am merely showing in stark language how offensive her words were to many of us who don't live in what she calls her "real" America.

Alaska IS real America, AIP notwithstanding. And if we keep Sarah here, we are throwing ourselves on a sword for you, so be grateful.

2. I know that. I thought about it. Provocative. |

But did it as a way of showing just how insulting it was for her to say about any other part of America since her (your) far away tundra is the most newly minted of American states along with Hawaii, and both are farthest away geographically.

4. She was wrong to say that, |

and it's kind of ironic, really, since I'm sure she -- like the rest of us up here -- refer to all of you as "The Lower 48" or "Outside." Maybe she did feel like she was in "Real America" down there. ... I don't know -- who can say what goes on in that addled little brain of hers.

...'lower 48' an anachronism? Was it used before Hawaii joined the Union and has just never been changed? It seems to me, as a non-Alaskan, that 'lower 49' would make more sense.
