What bothers me about all these "Blacks voted for Prop 8 in large number" threads on DU is that the vast majority of blacks on DU voted AGAINST the amendment.

13. No. White is a terrible color for dresses that looks good on almost no one.

And it only became fashionable in the first place because the English 19th-century ruling class wanted to advertise that they were wealthy enough to either (a) buy an expensive dress they'd never wear again, or (b) have enough domestic help to wash THEIR skin to the knuckles in lye to get the yellow underarm sweat stains out of that fugly overpriced thing.

Later on, it got re-interpreted to mean, "I'm a virgin, neener neener," (even when there was a 6-month baby bump underneath), where thereby meant wifehood was the only "job" in the world where NO experience on the resume made you desirable.

Wouldn't wear white at my wedding if you paid ME the nearly-a-year's-pay that those things cost nowadays.
