It's official: I have no desire to live in so called "real America"
I say this as someone that lives in a red state. With Colorado, New Mexico and North Carolina going blue, I can now say I honestly have no desire to live in one single red state. There are a few that I would like to visit such as Montana but as far as setting down permanent roots, not one red state looks appealing.

1. I live in a very blue state
but my town went for McCain. I feel like an outsider in a town where I've lived for almost 30 years. Until last year I was the token Democrat on the council, at least now I have one more.

The only saving grace is that every election, the republicans win by less and less, and I've noticed that even the demographic matched the nat'l election results. The heavier "Joe the Plumber"type area went strongly for McCain, while the areas where there were more educated people went Obama.....except my portion of town. Must be something in the water.

2. Politics aside, I would make the same statement.
The blue states are also more beautiful, generally have better job opportunities and have the vast majority of prestigious universities.

3. There's a lot of beauty in red states, too
Don't be misled by the ugliness of the politics. :)

5. I agree, I mentioned Montana, but for overall standard of living,
I can't think of one red state that I would enjoy living in for a significant amount of time. Do you have a suggestion of one?

4. I think the plains, midwest and southwest
are breathtakingly gorgeous in areas. I dislike almost all cities. I just don't like crowded environments at all. But I LOVE a beautiful desert or countryside.

7. Yeah, Yeah, I understand. Just simply making a statement based on the
current electoral map. If I need to say, I have no desire to live in a state that favored McCain in the 2008 election to make everyone feel better, then I amend my statement.
