I've been waiting, but nobody has thanked--
YouTube! It didn't exist in 2004. Mostly, the only people who knew about all the successful Kerry rallies were those who attended and a few extra folks from online sites like DU.

Not this time. Crowd shots galore. If you missed it, someone will send you a clip. And all the viral videos have made responding to slime a faster and more efficient process. Not only that, but consider the cumulative impact of all those supporter-originated celebrations. Compare them with videos of McSame supporters--snarling, red-faced, booing, hollering "KIll him!"

Could one reason for the trending toward Obama have been that our videos actually show people enjoying themselves? Smiling, laughing, diverse, knowing that there are more of us than we had thought. Actually changing anything will require a lot of slogging drudgery, but there should always be time for some fun.

Obama is Irish!
Barack's our hero, I've heard him say

3. Good point! Without YT, McCain's "maverick" myth might have endured since the MSM bought it hook,
line, and sinker.

If only political wonks like us were talking about it, he would've likely gotten away with it (he has for 25 years--I've always been his constituent, I know very well!)

4. YOU TUBE has been instrumental in this election...
Edited on Fri Nov-07-08 09:00 AM by nomaco-10
We had the truth on our side and it provided us with countless opportunities to use it to disprove right wing talking points and out and out lies.

You can link all day to long to some long, tedious article to get the facts, but let's face it, we're a visual culture and You Tube has been invaluable for getting the truth out there.

5. Forgot to mention "John McCain called his wife a c***"
The fact that that one went viral probably got us the votes of more than a few older Republican women.
