When you think about it, why would Palin and handlers think Sarkozy would WANT to talk to her? |
|
I mean, wouldn't most heads of state be calling the top of the ticket?
My theory is that Palin knew or was told that Sarkozy has an eye for the ladies (he does have a new supermodel wife after all)and that was most likely the subtext for the call. And then she invites him to go hunting with her! All the time without informing the McCain people even though they had three days to do so.
No wonder there's hard feelings! Makes all the "rogue" claims more valid. That instance made her and McCain look incredibly stupid.
"I'm so proud of her" he says, gritting his teeth so hard that his dentures lock.

1. I think her ego was so out of control |
|
that she couldn't imagine that a foreign head of state wouldn't want to talk to her. She strikes me as being utterly self-absorbed, a total narcissist. Of course everybody would want to talk to the most totally important woman in the universe...

2. I think Sarah thinks she's the center of the universe so |
|
why wouldn't Sarkozy want to talk to her, the Queen of USA? I would expect her to be waiting for g*d's call as well. And I bet she let her staff know how important she was every chance she got and they had had just about enough of her. No way could anyone have gotten through to her otherwise. Remember at the beginning of the call when she chastised her staff person for handing her the phone too soon? I bet that staff person was fired shortly thereafter but what a way to go out!

3. Good question. I have contradictory answers. |

It may be that the handlers knew that Palin thought she was the center of the universe and would be flattered that a foreign head of state wanted to shoot the breeze with her
The Palin camp was already disgusted with her and decided to make her look like a jackass in public one more time
Palin was so clueless she had no idea that VP candidates don't get phone calls like this
Edit: I see rose had the "center of the universe" idea too. I'm sure we're not alone

4. I think the McCain people set her up because she was a drag on the |
|
ticket. McCain made a bad choice, they knew they were losing, and they were trying to salvage his reputation by torpedoing her. His operatives sure have a knack for shooting their candidate in the foot. Bad judgment all around--which is why they lost.

7. Hey, she's fucking Esther fer crissakes! |
|
She has witchhunters annointing her and proclaiming her immanence. Of COURSE Sarko, and every other head of state who wants to survive the tribulation, is going to genuflect before her.
