Did any of you listen to BBC News hour segment on War Vet's take on Obama election? |

This was on WNYC radio .. not sure how many other NPR stations carry BBC.
The scene was a hangout for Vet of all stripes ....and I was stunned by the negativity .. I have nothing but respect for war vets but this was little too shocking.
The BBC reporter asked one of them whether Obama was a patriot ---The guy hemmed and hawed about 'real meaning' of patriotism or something to that effect... and Obama was basically unqualified to be Commander-in-Chief.
Another vet, when told that Most Americans feel that their confidence in America was restored by Obama's election and that they were truly proud of what we had achieved, responded in a deep baritone voice by saying that "Frankly the opposite was true for him"..
Not ONE positive reaction.
What is the reason for such hostility? I am very distressed- as despite the best intentions from Obama - I can see there are such difficult bridges to build... I hope my pessimism is unfounded.

1. "a hangout for Vet of all stripes" |
|
But is it a hangout for vets of all political parties?
Maybe the Obama supporters don't want to hang out with the other guys.

2. If Obama could administer psychotherapy to these people, twice a week for four years, then maybe. |
|
maybe they would have a shot at hope.
