No more Bogey Man.
In the coming new year, the Democratic Party will own the White House and the Congress. Using the Powell doctrine, the Democratic Party needs to heed its message "if you break it, you own it". The Democratic rank and file heard for six years from its leaders they had no power to stop the abuses of power, the constitutional breaches, and a dark unAmerican foreign policy as far as post World War II America goes due to being in the minority. For two years, the Democratic rank and file heard our elected officials could not do anything about it because of Presidential vetoes, lack of numbers in the Senate, a corporate media, and an election they could lose if they listened to us in regard to asserting Constitutional duties. Now, none of that can explain inaction, bad votes, and Constitutional breaches going forward. There is a new paradigm.

The sweeping victory took many efforts and things from our leaders to pull off as well as the best ground ever in the Obama team. But it also took us. Obama has said this election was not about him, but about us. Time will tell us if this is indeed true. We have all been energized, fought very hard, and cried in pride and relief on election night. But the Powell doctrine still stands. We will be watching our leaders now as much as they look at us now with their inherited new powers we did not approve of. The dictionary describes the word fickle thusly: flighty or unstable in attention, affection, etc. Some describe voters that way. But since this election is supposed to be about us we are told, if the next four years goes anywhere near the direction of the last eight including excuses similar to the Bogey Man excuses of at least the last two, one may look at that word "fickle" and may ascribe it to us if we are a no show in 2012. But after being told it was about us the rank and file, it's proper ascription will be to those who said it.
