It is getting better every day, but the first thoughts are we really Won and I don't have to worry about polls!!!

I am sure it will pass, but the last three days I have had to pinch myself in the morning!

3. It will take awhile for this to really sink in after 8 years of Bush.
We can have hope again.

4. I have been walking around with a smile...
I wish I could live the moment of November 4,2008 at 11PM EST over and over again. If in heaven God asked me what moment in my life would I want to live in, I would say that exact night and moment.

6. Me too
Edited on Fri Nov-07-08 03:46 PM by AyanEva
I woke up this morning feeling extremely happy because my first thought in that state between waking and sleeping was "President Obama." No lie. It was bizarre but I know I was smiling slightly as I sleepily shut off the alarm on my phone. I often times don't sleep well and I wake up anxious and this morning I didn't. :3

I'm still not used to it. It doesn't seem quite real.

8. Naaaah...
I've been cautiously optimistic for the past month or so, so I've been kind of mentally prepared for it.

I guess the best way I can describe my mood is as follows:

You remember in the movie Office Space where Peter goes to the occupational therapist and puts him under hypnosis? Then just as he's about to bring him out of it the therapist keels over with a heart attack? Then, Peter just has this really relaxed-looking half-grin on his face like a lifetime of external pressure just found an escape valve?

I'm about there right now.

9. The last two nights I've had the most bizarre dreams
and I wake up exhausted.

In the first one I was the Obama's babysitter and I was all anxious because I was always late for work...bizarre???

And last night, I was hired on the oppo-research team on the Obama campaign, but since the election was over all we did was sit around and eat and I felt really self conscious that I wasn't doing anything??

Hope you get a laugh outta this...it's made me laugh, although worn me out, each time I remember them.

What's up for tonight...am I going to get appointed to the cabinet?? Or maybe I'll be the puppy they pick out at the pound???

10. Yeah, me too. But we've got the inauguration to go look forward to
So I don't think my day to day feeling of well-being is going start fading until at least then, or it just might be kicked up another notch to take me through '09. As the great Jiminy Cricket once said, "Sometimes dreams do come true."

11. Me, too!
I wake up and everything is normal, then the reality hits and I realize life is wonderful!! Well, maybe not wonderful, but it's taken a damn fine first step toward wonderful.

:hi:

14. I'm there with you
I was running errands this morning and had Stephanie Miller on the radio. I was listening to her laundry list of all the things that Obama was working on already, and I realized I was driving around grinning like a gobsmacked idiot--it just didn't seem REAL that our president is going to be taking care of all the things we've begged for and dreamed about for the past eight years.

SIGH!!! :loveya:

15. I think some of us were way more traumatized than others
and it affects how quickly the news is sinking in.
