I think with the choice if Rahm as COS, we are seeing a bit of the iron hand that is within the velvet glove. As a former Chicagoan, I say no one should be surprised with the ruthlessness that Obama may practice politics--even as he does it with class and a smile.

I've always viewed Chicago politics best summarized by the movie "Untouchables":
