http://www.aninconvenientblog.org/2008/11/05/hope-is-a-renewable-resource/Most of us have forgotten over the past eight years that hope is a renewable resource.
We were reminded of this yesterday when Americans around the world chose to elect Barack Obama the 44th president of the United States.
As many of you know, I am good friends with Barack. I called him earlier today to congratulate him on his victory over Senator John McCain.
I look forward to serving in the Obama administration and while I cannot yet reveal what my exact role will be, I can assure you that President-Elect Obama and I are eager to get started building a new world. One that is green and sustainable. There is an economic crisis taking place in financial centers around the world right now and while we must deal with this, there is also a climate crisis taking place that impacts every person in every city.
We cannot forget that while we must deal with the meltdown on Wall Street, we must also deal with the melting of our polar ice caps and glaciers.
Thankfully, we have elected a man who is prepared to deal with both at the same time.
I have spent the past several years putting my money where my mouth is. I have invested in great companies that will help us heal our planet. Companies with cool names like AltaRock, Amyris, Altra, Mascoma, Miasole and Ausra are ready for the challenge.
With a friend in the White House who has pledged to invest $150 billion in their industry over the next 10 years, I can finally say that the time has come.
We can solve it. Yes we can.
I welcome you to my new blog. I hope you’ll follow me as I continue my crusade to do well by doing good.
