The only REAL stimulus that matters .... |
|
Worker income is what has been allowed to wither away, even when workers themselves lifted productivity to amazing highs, lifted the economy over the decades and created great profits and wealth for the wealthiest among us ...
Worker income is what greedy capitalists hate most, next to their own lack .... (I am not anti-capitalist, but I AM anti-greed)
Worker income has been declining due to conservative economic policies ....
Worker income is ALWAYS higher with collective bargaining ...
Worker income has tracked downward along with union membership ...
Worker income is so low that people cannot pay their mortgages ....
Worker income is so diminished that they have maxed their credit cards to pay their bills ....
Worker income is trickle up - Big Business wants to make a profit ? .... SELL goods to workers that have enough income to buy their goods .... They will become wealthy beyond measure ....
Worker income is what primes the pump ....
Worker income is what pays for college ...
Worker income buys the house and pays the mortgage ...
Worker income is what pays credit card debt ...
Worker income is what corporations hate most, yet they will die if workers cannot buy their goods ...
Worker income has suffered in the cause of investor profits - Give investors less and workers more, and wealth will increase for investors due to expanded economic activity ....
Worker income is what is missing right now ...
Worker income is all that matters ...
Worker income is what floats all boats ...
Worker income is what buys the goods the puts people to work again ...
Worker income is what will save us ...
Worker income is the stimulus that really matters ...
You want to save the economy ? ....
PAY YOUR WORKERS A DECENT WAGE, and watch as the waters rise ....
Worker income is the best stimulus imaginable ....
PAY US, and we will buy ....

1. This is a great post.... It is a terrible wrong that has been |
|
allowed to happen. Those who work as critical care nurses I would love to hear how your managing ,if your being denied your overtime, but still being tacitally allowed to work it. In other words. Those nurses, that work in critical care hospital settings, know the many reasons, that when your shift ends, you just can't go home. Most of them dealing with patient safety, but their are others too. The critcal care nurses that I know are being asked to sign a paper saying they won't work overtime unless it's been aproved. How and under what circumstances overtime are approved are not being discussed. This issue of denying nurses their overtime became easier to take away via a new computer pay system. Nurses codes for overtime are just being changed.

2. There is a bottom line for everyone ... |
|
Food Shelter Clothing are the absolute bottom for our existence, but simply paying for those things will not put the nation to work ... Families need to make more than the cost of food shelter and clothing in order to send their children to college, or pay for medical insurance, or buy a car, or sock away some money for retirement ...
Our buying power has been whittled away to nothing: and the conservatives who ran government did NOTHING to change that, because measly insignificant pay raises fits into the 'investor class' notion of what a wage is" : It is an 'expense' ...
Yet ... It is the one expense that keeps the whole of society afloat ....
OUR wages keep the rich rolling in dough, because we SPEND that money on 'things' ...
When they cut us down to the barest minimums, it cuts the economic activity to 'food shelter clothing', and nothing more ....
When they cut us down to the barest minimums, they commit economic suicide ... or a severe wounding at least ....
Overtime is regulated by state law .. Isnt it ? .... We have very strict rules here in Oregon regarding overtime ....
