3. God I wish Franken would pull this out!

It's going to be quite a stroke of luck if this works out in his favor.

5. absentee ballots have all been counted
in Minnesota they are counted on the night of the election, no provisional ballots either, these are just correcting typos, transposed numbers, etc.

The data shows that most undervoting when compared to the presidential race comes in areas that Obama carried. Also, where there were lots of first time voters so some may have marked the ballot wrong. The recount will look at voter intent, so a write in for Franken will count, a circle around Franken's name counts, etc.

9. Remember: this is NOT a recount, but a canvass with vote totals being checked and retabulated.
An actual recount of individual votes will not begin until 19 November which would reveal undervotes and intent. The process going on now does not overturn the election result of 4 November, it is the official result of election day and then there would be a recount. It is the recount which would then either confirm the official result or overturn it.

10. I would love to see Al go up by 300 before the recount begins -- then tell Coleman he'll
agree to cancel the recount.

It's moving at a snail's pace... but if it means Al wins, I don't care how many months it takes!
