to gay DU brothers and sisters
my heart goes out to your loss on prop 8 in california
but i think in retrospect this will be a watershed moment for your struggle into equality
the courts will now have to address the legalities in taking rights away from citizens by referendum
and they will decide that that is wrong
it may be a while as it winds through court
but the courts are not going to allow a denial of rights by referendum
can we vote the civil rights act away?how about womens sufferage?
can we here in florida vote to exclude one legged vietnamese fishermen from civil rights?
no we cannot
get your lawyers all shined up and get them to work
this is civics 101 stuff

3. The fight to stop Prop 8 in California is still going on in the courts. THEY need donations, too.

4. For a while reading the threads from the gay DU community...but didnt want it to come out wrong...
So here I go and I hope you can see that I'm hoping and praying for a positive future...

I don't condone the time that it is going to take for "America" to come to terms with your right to be united...but in the meantime, I reflect on the length of time that it took Americans to have a black President...

Progress takes time...I wish you patience and I extend my heart to those that prop 8 affected....
