Thank You Joe Biden - Perfect Pick!
I talked to some friends in the Midwest today and they both said something that made me think I should post this. They are both journalists and both commented on how Biden isn't getting enough credit for PA, OH and IN. They both said that he really clicked with working-class voters and local media always had great clips of a guy who seemed like one of them. They related to Joe Biden, he was tough, laid out the populist economic message with an ease that the people understood. Both of these people I talked to think he made a difference. Everyone thought it was foreign policy that would attract the attention from Biden - but it was his eloquent advocacy of Obama's kitchen table economic message that resonated. For that, Vice-President-Elect Biden deserves a big "THANK YOU!"

A great team to lead America!

I've really changed my opinion of Biden through all of this.

4. The media has never portrayed Biden as he really is.
We were sold an image of someone who talks constantly, fails to attribute quotations, and makes constant gaffes. They downplayed his foreign policy expertise and his ability to connect with the common man. If anything, it was implied that he was a latte liberal. Voters who wanted to know anything of substance about the man or his record had to search a bit harder for it.

McCain and Palin were the true gaffe makers. Anyone who loses track of how many houses he owns might not be the right person to connect with the common man. And let's not get into McCain/Palin's knowledge of foreign policy.

The people who control the media may have been slightly afraid of Biden. If voters had known the extent of his talents, his past bids for the Presidency might have gone better. And the contrast between Biden and Palin would have been more obvious, had the press been more honest.

If Biden is true to his word, as I believe he will be, his service will not be like Cheney's. This is bound to be a strong administration. We have reason to be encouraged.

5. Yeah, everybody I know is really pro Banruptcy Bill and pro Credit Card industry as well. There
could not have been a better nor more progressive choice. Doesn't really matter does it, when your votes are cast for you?

6. Biden was indeed the perfect complement. to Obama in terms of getting
votes.

Years on job

Foreign policy cred

Also very smart, but not perceived as a member of the intellectual "elite"

Feminist cred

Humble roots

Pennsylvania cred

"Beer worthy"

Loyal to his bones

Yeah, that Obama is really too inexperienced to know what to do.

7. Joe Biden kicked much ass on the campaign trail.
I had my apprehensions about the pick but was more than happy immediately after he began to hit the trail. This has made me trust Obama's instincts about people much more. And it was more than just instinct, he had serious talks with Biden about the job, and Biden was already a fairly known quantity. In contrast to... well, you know.

10. This proves two things.
One that Obama and his team is a whole lot smarter than the right wing gave him credit for
And two that Obama did not lessen to the insiders advice about politics.

12. My Republican husband liked Joe the best of the candidates
The VP picks by both Obama and McCain tipped it for my husband -- between shuddering at Palin's inadequacy and comfort at Biden's knowledge, he picked the democratic ticket for president for the first time in his conservative life.

Thanks, Joe!

16. Biden was the best pick to go up against McCain.
They have so many years of history, even Clinton doesn't have the history Biden does. So when Biden attacked McCain, it had teeth.

He was my first choice for the top spot but when Obama won me over he became my dream ticket for the VP.

The man is going to make us all proud as VP wait and see.

a few wacky bobbles aside, he was amazing the whole election season and he just FIT perfectly.

One of, if not *the* best decisions they made during the whole run.
