She doesn't look as polished and put together. Her face looks fuller and her hair looks very different.

She's still a very pretty woman (yeah, I said it), but the change is pretty amazing. Maybe it's less favorable (more natural) lighting or perhaps not having a hairstylist and makeup artist at beck and call really makes a difference. But the change is striking to me.

Anyone else?

1. I agree...
I've never thought she was attractive, but she seems far more dishevelled, fuller, and older now.

6. That happens when you trade haute couture for Wal Mart sweat suits.
This is the real Sarah. What we saw up until now was a very well-polished turd.

The pictures of movie stars out shopping or walking their kids? They are very plain and often not even attractive.. makeup and lighting does wonders :)

3. there's a reason her makeup person made the BIG $$$$
the makeup person was obviously very good, and Palin looks like a human woman now instead of a porcelain perfect icon of womanhood

4. She doesn't have her $20,000 make-up artist and hair stylist anymore.
There's a reason why movie stars etc pay tens of thousands of $ for make-up artists and hair stylists.

12. Part of that $150,000 plus shopping spree included cosmetics from Nieman's.
I'd guess that all of them went back with her to Alaska. I think the change is she is doing her own makeup and hair styling now, and she really IS wearing her own clothes for a change. The rest of the wardrobe is too fraught with baggage (heh!) at the moment or is "lost" (cough).

7. I watched a video of her this morning and thought the same thing!
I don't care much for her but I agree that she is attractive. However, I think she looks better now. She looks more like the character she was trying to portray in the campaign. I think they really screwed up trying to polish her looks so much.

8. I see it too
It looks like someone who is "defeated". She probably hasn't gotten a lot of sleep since losing. The adrenaline of the possibility of becoming the first female V.P. must have kept her perky and strong against the criticism. Now, with even the repigs whom she thought would never turn attacking her, and without the possibility of becoming an even more powerful person, she is now just overwhelmed, exhausted, and melancholy.

Eventhough I disagree with her on many issues, I don't enjoy watching her continually being attacked. However, you reap what you sow.

15. Everyone in entertainment/media is using HD makeup, and it's a dramatic change.
I imagine that makeup person had her face created every day... because I've seen other pics of her and she has a rather harsh look naturally, a very big square face. The makeup person managed to soften her look and make her head not look like a car battery. They earned every penny. I just don't see the "pretty" comments about her.. if you look at the pics where she wasn't tarted up, she looks just harsh.

18. I noticed it in her hair - very flyaway -
I do think her eyebrows are permanently inked in. there does not seem to be any hair there. Eyebrows can make the look - I have to get mine threaded to settle them down.

She is back to wearing all black.

Not nearly as polished looking as they had her on the trail. Her hair color is also slightly lighter, and the highlights are gone.

23. I think she still looks great, but less polished. She's not on the campaign trail, & no professiona
no professional hairdresser every day. The hairdresser is the main thing, I think.

Plus...remember that when she was recently interviewed in Alaska, she'd recently been on a very long plane trip, and she's been through a grueling schedule these past 2 months.

She looked a lot better than I would after an 8 hour plane trip. Esp. w/no prof. hairdresser (not that that would help ME that much!).

24. no hair make up and clothing stylists to help
imagine you start out every day with three or four people around you. One on her knees giving you a pedicure and putting makeup on your legs. another blow drying your hair and using shine shield bs. another ironing your clothes, making sure they fit just right, taping down any flapping lapels, etc.

Next make up starts and they sculpt your face. with her, the colors they chose made her look more professional, but they focused on making her eyes look wide open -- lots of fake eyelashes.

hair pieces, the hair work was extensive. she was a teetering pile of work done by everyone but her.

Now she's back to frizzy hair, unblended makeup, and clothes that weren't tailored to a t.

and the lighting-- I am shocked that she lets people shoot her the way she does. You'd think she would know better. She is so clearly inexperienced at the game -- giving that press conference in the office where you can hear people talking in the background? she's a real idiot.

30. I noticed that she looked less polished but
the person I saw the big difference in is the baby. He is no longer the bean bag baby. He has a face!! He has open eyes!! His hands and feet move when he is jostled around and his expressions change.

I may be wrong but I still think that he was drugged or something during the campaign.

Edited on Sat Nov-08-08 12:57 PM by lunatica
We got used to her perky 'yabetcha' with her smiling and flirting demeanor. She's now crying about how badly she's being treated. Big difference.

But her fans will fall all over themselves feeling sorry for her. Just like she planned.
