Here Is How I See The Palin Situation
But I think I am the only one - because, as much as she is being talked about, I've yet to hear this angle on it.

Here goes - The reason the repugs are blaming her is not because she may have taken some clothes home with her( like they give a shit about that) - she also has taken their base.

And, they want it back

They no longer want her, but they want their base back and they are attacking her credibility in an attempt to have HER base reject her and come back home

The problem is: By pointing out her ignorance they are only enduring her to the ignorant people who embraced her to begin with.

Also they are making her a victim - which can only help her

They are starting to eat themselves

2. The realists in the party know she can't possibly win.
They are cutting her off at the knees. Some leaks from the McStupid campaign could be exaggerated, but they want her gone. She was useful for a minute.

3. The sooner they realize that their fundie base is a liability
rather than an asset the better off the gop will be. They went all in with the Gingrich crowd and bet their souls on Bush. They're paying the price for that now.

4. Makes sense. The base loves her. She turned off everyone else. Can't

win with her; can't win without her. Good sense of smell!

5. It's Mittens and his people.
They don't want to face her in 12, and like you said, they want the base. Scratch the surface of Prop 8 in Ca and you'll find Mittens fingerprints all over it. He did that, along with the Mormons, to appeal to the pug base.

And yeah, it's a republican buffet with only republicans eating.
