COLEMAN CAMPAIGN TRIES TO DISENFRANCHISE MINNESOTANS
Another Coleman Lawsuit Makes It Clear: Norm Coleman Doesn't Want All The Votes To Be Counted
__________________________________________________________

Saint Paul <11/08/08> - In a shameful effort to deprive Minnesota voters of their civil rights, the Coleman campaign today went to court in an attempt to block 32 absentee ballots from being counted.

Communications Director Andy Barr:

"Our position is simple: Count every vote fairly. Ever since the routine process of canvassing to ensure that every vote is counted began, the Coleman campaign has been attempting to obstruct it. And, in typical fashion, they have now gone to court to shut down the count. This stealth attack on an early Saturday morning is a disgusting attempt to disenfranchise voters who did nothing wrong, and we will fight hard on behalf of Minnesotans who deserve to have their voices heard."

My Franklin sign, along with a lot of other Franken signs, were stolen in the middle of the night. My Obama sign was not.

The next day everywhere you went there were suddenly Norm Coleman signs everywhere. Some of them where huge and in your face. The 2 events seems to correlate perfectly. I think that whoever put up all of the Coleman signs were systemically taking down Franken signs.

People with a propensity to steal are not usually selective about what they steal.

Note: When verbally complaining about someone stealing your Franken sign it sounds like you're complaining about stealing your Frankenstein. I'm sure some people thought I was complaining about someone stealing my Halloween decorations.

13. Too bad, Normie.
The taxpaying citizens of Minnesota want to know the real and accurate count on this election.

The citizens of Minnesota also want to know that they aren't being disenfranchised over your greed.

29. Yes, if we are a "center-right" country......
why have the Republicans put so much effort into voter suppression? Could it be they know that if all willing voters could vote and be counted, the GOP would rarely win?

Since Al wants everyone's vote properly counted, and you're insisting that concession is the only answer, then f#@%ing concede already.

Edited on Sat Nov-08-08 02:00 PM by jimlup
Coleman is just working the system for any cracks in his favor he can find. I think this is going to be in dispute for a long time. I'm hopeful but not confident that Franken will eventually win.

30. I think 50% is probably a baseline.
Franken/Obama likely had a very strong absentee ballot program in Hennepin County. I bet absentees broke as high as 75% for Franken.

This whole race is about how that Franken got a lot less votes than Obama-- a whopping 360,000 less. There were also about 23,000 fewer votes overall in the Senate race than the presidential race. That's a lot of undervoting. Franken has a good reason to want to look into this in greater detail.

22. This is just another example of how Republicans will do ANYTHING to win
Republicans will do whatever gets them into office, because they understand that no matter how sleazy or unethical, or even illegal, their actions might appear at the time, once in office it doesn't matter any more. Once in office, they just give a big FU to the losers.

I'm afraid that when the Minnesota recount gets nasty, when push comes to shove, the Democrats won't back up Franken. I understand this could eventually go to a legislative body to determine the winner- and I honestly fear the Democrats will back down. I don't think Al will back down, but he might be all alone out there fighting... I hope I'm wrong.

23. Does anyone else besides me remember the piece of work Coleman's cousin, Sid Rosenberg?
Sid used to be on Imus in the Morning as the Sports Broadcaster. Coleman could be his twin brother for that matter. Here is a link to help you remember who this royal jerk is:

Why the people voted for him is way beyond me!

24. SENATOR-ELECT Franken is fighting this, and will need $
Every roadblock that Coleman vomits up is going to take lawyers and media people to overcome, and every day it goes on it will cost more and more money.

Is the link for contributions. I gave $50 today, every bit will help to bring Paul Wellstone's seat back to someone who would treat it with respect. Him, Al Franken :-)
